The Historical Association of South Haven will present its popular cemetery tour on Saturday, September 10 at 10:00 AM at the Lakeview Cemetery located at 191 Bailey Ave. in South Haven.
After a two-year hiatus, the popular tour will once again take place with six graves being highlighted. Those grave sites include: H. R. Macdonald, Captain James Donahue, S. E. Overton, William Wilcox, Donald Nichols and the memorial marker for the victims of the Northwest Orient Flight #2501.
Narrators will be at each of the graves to relate history and background on the people and the contributions they made to the South Haven community.
Included will be our iconic and longest serving lighthouse keeper, a Civil War veteran and medal of honor recipient, as well as the marker for those lost in the mysterious crash of Flight 2501 on June 23, 1950.
The tour is free and open to the public, stepping off from the west entrance of the cemetery on Bailey Ave.
